GRAD STUDENTS
Hello potential future graduate student! As your Ph.D. advisor, I take a student-centered approach where we will discuss (at least once a year) what you want to get out of the program, what types of jobs you want to get afterwards, and how we are doing in our advisor/advisee relationship. Based on those discussions I will then adjust my mentoring style to best meet your goals and needs. My hope for you is that by the end of the program you will become a strong and independent researcher.
Broadly, I am interested in students who would like to pursue their Ph.D. in experimental psychology (with a Social Psychology or Health Psychology focus). I am looking for students who have a passion for research and understanding how stress and emotions influence and are shaped by our relationships.

“Starting grad school was very intimidating for me, but Dr. Peters, Audrey, and the RAP Lab made my transition the best that I could ask for. The environment of the RAP Lab is not only conducive to learning and developing as a student, leader, and researcher, but also for having fun and making new connections. I’m very grateful for the supportive community the RAP Lab has given to me at OU, and I know that Dr. Peters is setting me up for success both during my time in grad school and beyond as my advisor.”
